1969 – 71 – Studied Maritime Civil Engineering at Liverpool under Pat Holmes.
1971 – Joined W S Atkins in their R & D Department in Epsom developing software for design of offshore oil structures. Later designed and supervised construction of offshore platforms in North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, South China Sea and Middle East.
1973 – Married Alison, German graduate from Liverpool. Had 2 children, Daniel (now CIO of Burberry) and Jonathan (now Features Editor for GQ magazine).
1984 Divorced and travelled to Jakarta, Indonesia with 2nd wife Danielle (French) to design and build oil platforms in S China Sea.
Had 2 more children, Raphaelle (now digital communications consultant for government) and Romain (content manager for Netgem – set-top boxes).
1991 – Left W S Atkins and joined The Coca-Cola Company as European Design and Construction Manager, based in Brussels. (one bubbly black liquid to another!)
1994 – Moved back from Brussels to 18th century house in Kennington which Danielle converted into an art gallery www.daniellearnaud.com.
Progressed through Coke organization, becoming Director Capital Planning and Infrastructure Development for the world-wide organization based initially in Atlanta, USA, then back in London. Designed and built Coke plants in China, SE Asia, India, Middle East, Europe, S Africa, S America and USA.
2011 Bought and renovated house in Provence, France – (photo above).
2015 Retired from full-time with Coke, but still consulting about 3 days per week.
